How Long To Cook Salmon Fillet

Cooking salmon in the oven.?
Hi people, tomorow I am going to the fish market to buy a salmon fillet.
Years ago my anti used to wrap the salmon up in tin foil with some type of herb and cook it in the oven, it was to die for and I want to bring back the memories!
Could anyone tell me what herb it may of been and once wrapped in tin foil what temperature does my ‘electric’ oven want to be at and how long or how do I tell if its cooked?
Also what could I serve it with?
Thanks a lot
The herb would probably have been dill or tarragon.
I prefer a bit of dill, salt and lemon juice – I sometimes add a bit of olive oil, but it’s an oily fish, so doesn’t need much.
Wrap in foil (properly sealed so that steam doesn’t escape, with enough space to let air circulate on top of the salmon) and cook at around 200degrees centigrade for about 15 – 20 minutes. Cooking time depends on the thickness of the fish and how hot your oven is (they all vary).
Take it out of the oven and if you check it and if it’s still a touch pink/raw in the middle, you can cover it with foil again and the residual heat will continue to cook it for a few minutes (out of the oven). It’s nice cold with salad too!
If you want to eat it hot, serve it with boiled new potatoes, spinach or green beans and mayo, or my personal favourite at the moment is to serve it with rice, with the juices from the foil poured over and a bit of soy sauce – sounds odd, but it’s delicious.
