Is there a good way to substitute whole milk with skim?
I am making green bean casserole and it calls for whole milk but I always drink skim. I don’t want to go and buy more milk if I don’t have too…
P.S. If there are any other suggestions for good green bean casserole, let me know.
Here’s what I’ve got for my recipe (kinda… I just made some of it up…)
3/4 cup whole milk (sub. skim milk?)
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
2 cans of cut green beans ( is there a way I can transfer this amount to frozen?)
1 1/3 cup french onions (Any other substitute cuz I don’t like onions)
I will be adding:
2 tsps of worstishire(?) sauce
1 can of tuna
top with bread crumbs and parmesian cheese
Any other suggestions are welcome!!
If you add a 1/3 cup cream and reduce the skim to 1/2 you will be fine. Alternately the same quantity of Evaporated milk.
*** Add Toasted almonds or the can of the Frenches Dried Onions to substitute…Even the little Oyser Crackers. Or the Just Bunches cereal ( honey bunches of oats) .You need to put some crunch in that.
These Items should be added before serving to retain the crunch.
** Yes 3 cups of frozen beans The Wostishershiersshiersauce is a tart taste you can add Soy Sauce. (Be sure to drain the tuna)
